New Surface Water Treatment Rule Guide Posted
EPA has just posted on their website a new guide to the suite of surface water treatment rules. The guide, Surface Water Treatment Rules: What Do They Mean to You?, brings together the regulatory requirements of the original SWTR, the IESWTR, LT1 and LT2, as well as the Filter Backwash Rule. This approach allows EPA to highlight the important features of the rules like sanitary surveys, source water monitoring, filtered water monitoring, disinfectant residual monitoring, covered reservoirs, and reporting and record keeping. The guide is organized so water systems with different types of treatment know exactly what applies to them. The guide is available on the EPA website here.
